This was the first time the teams had met and the Islanders coached by former Lochaber Rugby Stalwart Neil Murray had a mammoth journey to get to Oban. Leaving Shetland on the overnight boat on Friday night and then going by coach from Aberdeen to Oban before returning to Aberdeen Saturday night for the Sunday boat home. The commitment shown take a team off the island and compete should be applauded.

She was closely followed by Erika Scofca with 3 tries, the powerful Italian Centre breaking a number of tackles to score.

There were also tries for Kirsty Sinclair who scored a cracking try at the end of some great interplay between the forwards and the backs, young Stand off Heather Fothergill who is really coming on to a game after moving there to replace Lucy Stewart who is still on her coaching journey in South Africa.
Another player returning from a period away was Rebecca Sims who capped a fine display with a great try after answering an SoS for Players last week. She had a storming game in the loose play and played most of the game in the front row.
Last try of the day came for returning Captain America – Laura MacCormick who rounded off a Fantastic day with a 10 min Cameo performance!.
A Fantastic game played in great spirits and Oban progress into the next round of the plate competition where they will play away to Glasgow University.
