Oban Lorne 2018 Club Dinner and awards night

Oban Lorne RFC hosted their annual awards dinner on Saturday evening in front of a packed clubhouse. The  dinner and awards night concludes what has been another busy season for all involved at the club.
  After a fantastic three course meal provided by Michael Hewitt of ‘Oban Spitroasts/Argyll All Occasions Catering Company’ club president Sandy Rokitta gave a brief overview of the season so far that was dominated by some overwhelming success fro our fantastic ladies team. The Ladies were awarded Scottish Rugby Womens Club if the season at the Unions awards dinner at Murrayfield on Friday, this is a massive achievement for the team that the whole club and town should be very proud of.
  The clubs 1st XV have had a very frustrating season is West Division 1 and will find themselves playing in division 2 from September.
  Saturdays awards winners from the 1st XV were; Top points Scorer, Craig Wright, Best Trainer, Jonathan Sayer, Most Improved, Kyle Graham, Best Newcomer, Matt Walker, Player of the Year, Craig Wright, Young Player, Jack Strachan & Player Player, Craig Wright.
  The award winner from the Ladies section were; Top points scorer, Lucy Stewart, Best Trainer, Ellie MacNiven, Most Improved, Ailsa MacLachlan, Best Newcomer, Eika Skofca, Player of the Year, Erica Skofca, Young Player, Ellen Barlow & Players Player Erica Skofca.
  Clubperson of the year went to George Hamilton for his dedication to all teams including youth, mens and ladies in his fantastic pitch side first aid support. George is also a valuable member of the clubs committee holding the very important role of Child Protection Officer.
  The 1st XV’s Bulgarian Internationals Radostin Maksimov and Vasil Borisov were also congratulated with their National Team success this season.
  Outgoing 1st XV Coach Corrie Louw was also presented by gifts from the club and players for his hard work and dedication towards coaching the team over the past seven seasons in what has been an extremely successful time for Oban Lorne RFC.
